Ahoy, fellow adventurers! We’re thrilled to have you join us on our journey across the vast and beautiful waters of Australia’s East Coast. For those who are new here, we’re a family of seven, with six of us living out our dream on the high seas. Our boat is not just our home but our classroom, our playground, and our gateway to the world.
As we navigate the stunning coastlines and rich waters of Eastern Australia, we’ve decided to share more of our adventures here on our website. We’ve tried using Facebook, but we found it challenging to post enough photos and videos to truly capture the essence of our journey. Here, we hope to do much more—documenting every thrilling catch, stunning sunset, and the everyday joys and challenges of life on the water.
Each day on the boat is a new lesson, whether it’s homeschooling our four kids, cooking up a storm in our galley, or simply soaking in the freedom that this lifestyle brings. Our children are growing up with the ocean as their backyard. Justin, our youngest, is just six years old and already has a passion for fishing, always thrilled to have Dad around more. Nicky, who’s 10, is our swimming enthusiast and loves nothing more than catching big fish. Hannah, at 8, embraces the boat life but is constantly surrounded by boys, which makes her eager to meet new friends whenever we dock.
One important part of our family is missing from the boat—Gabby, who is currently back in Perth completing university. Even though she’s far away, we all miss her presence and can’t wait for the days when she can join us out here on the water during uni breaks.
So, grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and join us as we explore the breathtaking waters of Eastern Australia. There’s so much more to come, and we can’t wait to share it all with you right here.
In addition to our stories, we’ll be using this blog to publish some of the kids’ work, share useful information we’ve discovered along the way, and offer insights into our lifestyle. We kindly ask for your understanding and tolerance toward the children’s efforts—they’re learning as they go, just like us!
Fair winds and following seas,
The Spirit of Ulysses Crew
