Spirit of Ulysses – Nordhan N76

As boating enthusiasts, our journey began when we married in 2011, sharing a love for the water that only deepened over the years. We started with a 21ft bow rider, which Kris often used for water skiing. However, an unfortunate accident left our boat written off and a close friend seriously injured, forcing us to step away from boating for over a year. During that time, Kris started a business in Non-Destructive Testing, but our hearts never strayed far from the sea.

After a year without a boat, Amy surprised Kris by secretly saving enough money to buy a 35ft Maxum SRC. With two children, we spent countless weekends exploring Rottnest Island off the coast of Western Australia, making unforgettable memories aboard our Maxum. As our family grew with another child on the way, we knew it was time for an upgrade.

This led us to Richard Glazer from Denison, who played a pivotal role in our next adventure. In 2014, we flew to the USA to meet Richard and then traveled together to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where we purchased a 48ft Searay. We shipped it home, and over the years, as our family expanded to include five children, we enjoyed countless adventures on the Searay.

Throughout this time, Kris held onto a dream—owning a Nordhavn yacht. Despite facing numerous challenges in his business, from lawsuits to betrayals, Kris never gave up. The thought of one day owning a Nordhavn kept him motivated, even on the toughest days.

Our bond with Richard grew stronger over the years, with regular early morning calls as Kris drove to work. In 2019, we embarked on a world cruise, eager to explore the possibility of navigating the Panama Canal. But upon our return, the world was hit by COVID-19, and like many, our plans were put on hold.

By 2022, life started moving again, and Kris seized the opportunity to successfully sell his business in September. That’s when we reconnected with Richard to discuss the Spirit of Ulysses, a Nordhavn yacht. Richard had heard Kris talk about selling his business to buy a boat for nearly seven years, and in January 2023, it finally became a reality. With Richard’s help, we negotiated the purchase of a Nordhavn N76 in February 2023.

Now, as we embark on this new chapter aboard our dream boat, we invite you to join us on our journey. Our story is one of perseverance, hard work, and an unwavering dedication to a dream. Despite setbacks, we never gave up, and now we’re setting sail on the adventure of a lifetime. The Nordhavn, known for its seaworthiness and luxurious accommodations, is the perfect vessel for the next leg of our journey.

Boating has been a cornerstone of our lives, bringing us closer as a family and allowing us to create cherished memories. Kris’ love for the sea has been a driving force, helping him overcome business challenges with the dream of one day owning a Nordhavn. Along the way, we’ve also found fulfillment in giving back to our community, supporting local businesses, and volunteering for charitable causes.
